Millman Sets National Indoor Best

On December 17th and the Moncton Last Chance Meet, Peter Millman produced a throw of 23.57m in the Youth Weight Throw. This not only bests his previous provincial record by almost 2 meters, it is a National Youth best. Athletics Canada does not officially keep National indoor records for the Youth age category making Peter's throw with the 20lb implement a National best throw. An excellent way to end to end his last meet as a Youth aged athletes, Peter will begin competing as a Junior athlete in January.

In the same meet, there were 4 additional Provincial records broken. In the Bantam category, Gregory McCarthy  picked up 2 new provincial records in both the weight throw and shot put with respective throws of 13.83m and 13.92m. Sarah Millman also broke her own record in the Midget woman's weight throw with a new provincial record throw of 14.50. Drew Erskine continued the re-writing of the provincial record books with a new midget weight throw record of 15.93m.

An excellent end to the year for the Truro Lions who consistently broke provincials records throughout the year, produced 10 medals at the National Legion championships and appointed 2 members to the World Youth Team. Congratulations and best of luck in the new year.
