The Highland Ford Track and Field meet will take place August 27th at the new facility located off of Foster Avenue in Stellarton. The age categories that will be offered will be U15, U17 and Open.  Track events include: 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 4x200 relay.  Field events include:  High Jump, Triple Jump, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin. Congratulations to those athletes that competed at the Senior Championships held in Toronto, Ontario. A total of 9 athletes represented Nova Scotia at the event. Congratulations to Adrienne Power who maintained her National title in the 200m in a time of 23.47. Adrienne also placed 3rd in the 100m. David Bambrick from Launchers Athletics placed 2nd in the Para Men's Shot put event with a throw of 9.52m.

Athletics Nova Scotia will be hosting a joint Cross Country event with the Youth Running Series and Dalhousie University. Entry includes a sponsored T-shirt, races will be timed by Atlantic Chip Timing and we'll be aiming to have an all around Merry-time.

Taylor Stutely established a new Nova Scotia midget girls provincial record in the discus. Stutely threw 34.10 beating the old record of 33.32m set by Kayla Gallagher in 2009. Adam Wolkins threw an impressive 70.36m in the senior javelin event. His throw is the fourth longest throw in Canada this year!
