Andrew Grosse
Andrew set the NS Senior record for the high jump with his fantastic leap of 2.13 while winning the Dartmouth Relays in New Hampshire. It marks the first time a Nova Scotia athlete has topped the seven foot barrier.

Laura Maessen
This Grade 9 student from Dartmouth took on years-older competitors to win the high jump with a great personal best of 1.67m at the Dartmouth Relays in New Hampshire.

February, 2005

Geoffrey Harris
Geoffrey set three junior records during the month of February with his 49.42 400m and 22.97 200m at the St. Valentine's Day Meet in Boston and his 36.1h 300m time at the Dal Relays on February 20th.

Female
Adrienne Power
Adrienne set two new Senior records while winning the 55m and the 200m at the St. Valentine's Day Meet in Boston. Her times were 6.93 for the 55m, currently ranked 3rd in Canada and 24.04 for the 200m, currently ranked 4th.

March, 2005

Jake Gallagher
Jake had the top Nova Scotia result at the World Cross-country Championships in St-Etienne/St-Galmier, France on the weekend. Gallagher was third among his Canadian team-mates and 78th overall in the junior men's race.

Female
Adrienne Power
Adrienne was named Athlete of the Meet and CIS Track Athlete of the Year after a record-setting performance at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport Track and Field Championships in Winnipeg on the weekend. Adrienne ran 37.35 in the 300m to break the 18-year-old record of Jillian Richardson. She followed this up with a 7.44 victory in the 60m and anchored the Dalhousie team to a provincial record of 1:39.27.

Adrienne Power
Adrienne set a new provincial record in the 200m at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge on the weekend. Her time of 23.64 broke her old record of 23.66 set last year. She also ran lead leg for the Canadian team in the 4x100m. The team was fourth with a time of 45.59.

Geoff Harris
Geoff dominated the sprints at the NSSAF High School Championships winning the 100m, 200m and 400m as well as capturing medals in the 4x100m and 4x400m. He set two NSSAF records in the process with a 49.30 clocking in the 400m and a 22.37 time in the 200m. He also recorded a personal best 48.84 seconds at the NS Junior-Senior Selection meet on June 18th.

Laura Maessen
Laura also come up big at the NSSAF meet winning the 80m hurdles, the high jump (1.61m) and the pole vault. In the pole vault, she set a new NSSAF Intermediate record with her 2.60m clearance

Eric Gillis
Eric had an incredible month, capturing a bronze medal at the National Senior Championships in the 5000m then going on to set a NS senior record in the 1500m (3:45.51) and the 5000m (13:41.81).

Adrienne Power
Adrienne became the first athlete from Nova Scotia to win the Canadian Senior Championships in a track event in thirty years. She posted a time of 23.41 to win the 200m. Two days earlier she was 4th in the 100m and set a senior provincial record of 11.59 in the heats.

A.J. captured the silver medal at the Canada Games with a great performance of 2.07m in the high jump.

Janice Ashworth
Janice won the inaugural running of the 2000m Steeplechase at the Canada Games. Her time of 6:46.00 is a new Nova Scotia Senior record, a Canada Games record and the pending Canadian Senior record for the event.

Jake Gallagher
Jake had a great opening to his university career with a 4th place finish in his first race at the Penn St. Spiked Shoe Invitational. Jake is running for the
Yale Bulldogs.

Female
Mallory Ross
Mallory Ross is another freshman excelling in her first year at University. She won her first meet at Coppin State and had two other top six finishes to her credit by the end of September. Mallory attends
Delaware State University.

October, 2005
Male
Paul Chafe
Paul had two notable runs in October. He placed 27th at the prestigious Murray Keatinge Invitational at the University of Maine against teams from Stanford University, Dartmouth College and the University of Iowa. He was timed in 25:09.0 for 8k. He also place first at the A.U.S. Conference Championships with a 10k performance of 32.09.1.

Janice Ashworth
Janice finished 14th at the Murray Keatinge Invitational at the University of Maine against teams from Stanford University, Boston College and Dartmouth College. She ran the 5k in a time of 17:37.9 in a tight field that saw the top 15 run within one minute of each other. She finished first at the A.U.S. Championships in Fredericton with a time of 18:09.6.

Craig Slaunwhite
Craig had a 4th place finish in the shot put at the Francophone Games in Niamey, Niger. He had a 14.82m performance in his first international shot put competition.

Heather Hennigar
Heather placed placed in a very deep senior women's 6K race at the Canadian Senior Cross-country Championships in Vancouver, BC. Her finish position places her in the selection pool for the 2006 World Cross-country Championships.
